[Contact us](https://www.arjdistribution.se/en/contact-arj-distribution-ab) # Xopero Backup & Recovery Backup for endpoints, servers, virtual environments and Microsoft 365 — one console, and the storage the customer chooses. On-premises, cloud, hybrid or several clouds at once. ARJ Distribution distributes Xopero in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. We sell exclusively through resellers and managed service providers — never direct to end customers. This page is written for partners considering taking Xopero into their portfolio. ## What you can sell it for Xopero ONE covers three situations that otherwise tend to require different products and different consoles. **The endpoints.** Windows, macOS and Linux — laptops and desktops. The same agent and the same console whether the customer has ten devices or ten thousand. **Servers and virtual environments.** Windows and Linux servers, and image-based backup of VMware — standalone ESXi and vCenter — as well as Hyper-V, with incremental recovery points. Database protection is included. **Microsoft 365.** Mailboxes, files and the rest of the suite. Two things make a difference in a procurement. The backup can be stored locally — at the customer or at your own site — which far from everyone in this category offers. And licensing is per user you actually back up, not per tenant. The customer who wants to protect thirty people does not have to pay for all three hundred. **The DevOps tools sit in a product of their own.** Backup of GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira and Azure DevOps — repositories and metadata — is handled by [GitProtect](https://www.arjdistribution.se/en/gitprotect.io-enterprise-grade-backup-disaster-recovery?hsLang=en). It is a separate product with its own licence, from the same owner as Xopero, and is therefore not part of Xopero ONE. WHAT IS PROTECTED STORAGE YOU CHOOSE Endpoints Windows, macOS, Linux Servers and VMs VMware, Hyper-V, databases Microsoft 365 per protected user Xopero ONE one console, one policy Your own storage yours or the customer’s Any S3 cloud or your own S3 Xopero’s cloud — or several at once, with replication between them The same console whatever the data type, and the storage is your choice — not the vendor’s. ## Where Xopero differs **The customer decides where the data sits — and where the service runs.** That is the point that most often decides the deal here. Xopero runs as SaaS, in an MSP edition, or installed locally in your own data centre. Storage is just as open: Xopero’s cloud, any S3 provider, your own S3 storage — or several of them at the same time. You can also replicate between different storage types exactly as you want it. For a customer who requires that data neither leave the country nor sit with a particular provider, there is almost always a setup that can be defended. **Recovery to a different platform than the one that was backed up.** A physical server can come back as a virtual machine, and a virtual machine on a different hypervisor than the one it ran on. In a major incident, that is the difference between waiting for the right hardware and being up and running on whatever is available. **One platform covers several layers.** Endpoint, server, virtual environment and SaaS sit in the same product. The customer avoids one solution per data type, and you avoid maintaining several consoles for the same customer. **Immutable backups.** The protection against ransomware rests on copies that cannot be altered after the fact, with an air gap as the option for the most sensitive data. ## Three ways to charge for it Xopero can be taken into your business in three ways. Which one fits depends more often on how you want to invoice the customer than on what needs protecting. **MSP subscription.** Billed monthly. No entry investment for the customer, and the revenue is recurring for you. **Annual licence.** Licensed per year. Suits customers who would rather treat it as an investment than as a running cost, and organisations where the budget is set a year at a time. **Appliance.** *Xopero Unified Protection* is a ready-built hardware unit with the licences included. The customer gets backup and recovery in a box instead of building storage and servers around the software themselves. Talk to us before you quote, not after. We are glad to work out which of the models gives the best margin in the individual case. ## What is needed from you — and what we do Selling backup is rarely the hard part. The hard part is that it has to work on the day something actually has to be restored, and that puts demands both on you and on us. **You need** to know the customer’s environment well enough to know what should be protected and how quickly it has to be back. The installation is uncomplicated. What decides whether the customer ends up satisfied is the sizing — storage capacity and recovery times. **We do** the technical walkthrough together with you, help with the sizing, and sit in on the customer meeting if you want us to. We keep track of licences and renewals. And we never sell direct to your customer. ## Frequently asked questions ### Where is the customer’s data stored? Where you decide.
