EtherApps Forge — repackage Windows applications without the original media

EtherApps Forge captures an installed Windows application from a running system and turns it into a deployable package. It solves the most common blocker in a desktop migration: the application exists, but the installer does not. ARJ Distribution distributes it in the Nordics: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. We sell exclusively through resellers and MSPs, never direct to the end customer.

What goes in and what comes out

• In: live capture from a running Windows machine — files, registry, AppData, services and dependencies. Also MSI, App-V and build folders from developer builds. Source environments from Windows XP to Windows 11.
• Out: MSIX for Intune and Windows 365, AppAttach-ready MSIX for Azure Virtual Desktop, IntuneWin and MSI.
• Also: signing, manifest fixes, Package Support Framework compatibility and dependency mapping.
• AI support: EtherAssist is built into the workflow.

What you can sell it against

• Windows 10 to 11. The migration stands or falls on the applications. It is the ten apps nobody has the source files for that set the timeline, not the hundred that go by themselves.
• The customer heading for Windows 365 or AVD. Apps that worked on a physical desktop have to be repackaged to come along.
• The application whose vendor no longer exists. No support, no installer, but the business uses it every day.
• App-V being retired. Existing App-V packages go in and come out as MSIX.
• The packaging factory. For an MSP packaging for many customers, capture and output can be standardised with CLI and MCP automation.

What it does not do

Just as useful in a customer conversation as what it does:

• It does not require the original installation media — that is the whole point.
• It does not rebuild applications from installers and does not change source code.
• It does not support AppAttach for Windows 365 — there you use MSIX or IntuneWin. AppAttach applies to Azure Virtual Desktop.
• It does not replace packaging skill. It is support where that skill is thin, not a button that does the job for somebody.

Price and licensing

• Licensed per admin user per year. It is the number of people doing the packaging that drives the cost, not the number of applications or the number of desktops.
• Unlimited captures are included, along with the GUI, PowerShell module and CLI, App-V conversion, AppAttach support for AVD, training and certification, and one year of maintenance.
• You get the price from us. Forge is priced separately from the other products — tell us the number of admin users and you will get your price.
• Volume discount on request. The AI controller is priced case by case.
